An EU-funded joint tourism and cultural project of the towns of Kaposvar (SW Hungary) and Koprivnica (N Croatia) has been very successful, an assessment of the project on Wednesday showed.

[MTI] Under the project called "Pannonian Palette", 12 joint large-scale programmes were organised in the past twelve months that included among other events a meeting of Hungarian-Croatian ethnic minorities, a bicycle tour along the Drava border river, a festival of painters and tourism fairs, Kaposvar Mayor Karoly Szita said.

The project was implemented by the local governments of Kaposvar, Koprivnica and two other towns along with five Hungarian and seven Croatian tourism, culture organisations and NGOs.
The 58 million forint (EUR 222,000) project was in large part funded by the European Union, Szita said.
